The 300 has a bore of 4", the 400 had a bore of 4". The 300 has a stroke of 3.98. The 400 had a stroke of 4"

The 4.9 has a acurate cid of 300.09. The 6.6 had a acurate cid of 402.12

The 300 was built from the 240.

i know the 300 six is made from a 240, i got my pushrod cover off of a 240, i didnt say it was made from a 400. just the cylinder size seems very simular to a 400.

I'm not flaming ya, motorcraftsman!! I am just replying.

The 240, 300, 289?, 255?, 302, 351, and 400 all had 4" bores.

sorry,its only i just noticed if a 300 six had 2 more cylinders its cid would be 400 or so.
