86 300 I6 miss
My 86 F-150 300 I6 has developed a miss recently. It feels like it cuts out for half a second or so. This is most noticeable on the highway around 65mph, but I can feel it at slower speeds and sometimes at idle. Also, just yesterday the "Emissions" light came on briefly when it was acting up. The engine and carb are both new with about 5000 miles on them. I had just about everything under the hood checked just after engine replacement due to a lack of power - turned out to be a plugged cat. Any ideas? Thanks,

I would start with the fuel filter. If it hasnt been replaced in a long time, then replace it. If this is getting pluged up it can cause a miss.
Also, have you replaced your plug wires lately? If not, then replace them. They can cause a miss you describe.
Make sure your air filter is clean.
