I have a wierd question

Yesterday I changed my oil on my 99 Exp and the odm read 76,600 miles, this morning when I started the truck it read 077600. Its a electronic odm anyone have any idea what I can do to get it back? Would disconnecting the battery cables do it?

Are you sure it read 76,600 when you changed the oil?

Yes positive, I even have that reminder sticker that the oil change place puts on the windsheild and it said next oil change 76,600

I can't imagine that the act of changing the oil would have any impact on the odo reading, unless you disconnected and reconnected the battery during the process which caused some freakish electrical event to occur.

Drive the Expy for a few days and see if the odometer appears to be accurately tallying the mileage.

I bet the place where you got the oil changed just wrote the number down wrong...

ok so I called ford and they told me that maybe the odo was switch to KM instead of Miles does anyone know how to change the odo back to Miles?

If your odometer was at 76,000 miles and the display was changed to kilometers, it would show something like 122,000 km. It wouldn't just display 1k too high. 1 km equals approximately .62 miles.
