94 F150 steering and lift

I have a 4x4 302 94 F150 EXT cab and i am putting a 6 inch suspension lift on it but I was looking at improving the steering. Right now the steering is ok but if you let go of the steering wheel it likes to go to the left real fast and its really loose. I was looking at a superrunner steering linkage in addition to a 6 inch superlift suspension kit. Has anyone gone with the setup. Or is there any other suggestions. Hears the site with the setup

and this one has a pic of the steering kit

well it really depends on how deep and how strong you want it to be! your first option is to go get the steering components from Napa for a 80-96 F350. it is crossover steering and is much stronger since the TRE's are thicker.

another option is to go with true crossover steering. go to shakerbuilt.com or another offroad warehouse and they can help you out. tim at shakerbuilt is VERY helpful! but he can talk forEVER, lol, but a great guy.

and the last is full hydro which i strongly suggest! it would be cool whether or not it is street legal it is just flat out cool! check it out http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billav...ing/index.html

good luck on your quest for better steering!

hang on...no crossover steering...he's got a ttb in there. superlifts really your only choice if you wanna improve it.

lol funny! although i am still all for full hydro! then you wouldn't have to have a gear box and steering shaft

i have heard that super runner kit does do great but i dont have any experience with it. if your steering is that loose you have other problems! i would look into getting your gearbox rebuilt! also check your TRE's and make sure they are tight still! i had a 6" lift on my 93 F150 with stock steering and it was great... and i drove 400 miles to skool and back once a month or so!

For the TTB's that type of steering setup is the best way to go as it follows the geometry of the ttb which is something the stock setup doesn't do. There are a few other guys that make this type of setup for the TTB (autofab and Mcneil offroad come to mind).

But yeah it sounds like your steering box or TRE's are going, also check the radius arm bushings on the drivers side. Or possibly the wheel bearings could be going, after a drive get out and check and feel the front wheels, if one side is really hot (would be the drivers) this is an indicator of a bad bearning or brake problem.
