How can you tell if you have the platinum or titanium colored cladding and bumpers on a 2003 model XLT? I have a C-revision dark shadow gray XLT and just ordered the fender flares on ebay and got the platinum ones but I think I may have ordered the wrong ones.
Just go to ebay and look for item #7969355041 since this board won't let you post a hyperlink.
They also sell the titanium ones under a different auction. I hope I got the right ones.
Well, Monsta, I figured out that I must have the titanium and not the platinum on my truck by looking at a warranty repair order when I had the cladding replaced due to fading. All the part numbers end in AAA on the work order and the part number for the titanium flares is 3L1Z-16268-AAA. The platinum part number is 3L1Z-16268-AAB. I already fired off an email to the seller saying that I goofed and meant to order the titanium ones. We'll see what happens.
Are these the same fender flares that come on the EB? If they are I thought you needed a eb bumper for the front and back to get the flares to line up with the bumpers. Am I totally nuts?
I think the titanium is the gray textured XLT cladding, and the platinum is the glossy cladding that came with the XLT Sport (also has the fender molding).

Good sleuthing! That info should help out others!
If it doesn't work out, let me know via PM and I'll take the "wrong" ones off your hands. I'd just end up repainting them anyway.
Thanks, Monsta, but I fired off an email early on to this guy and I just received his response that he was able to change the order to titanium for me I'll post photos when I get them and install them.
I just thought I'd chime in again and let you guys know that I just ordered a set from this guy. I also got the titanium set. I don't know when I'll put them on because I 'd like to get the cladding and bumpers painted. I just need the cajones to paint them myself like Monsta did on his ride.
Monsta did you remove the cladding when you painted them or did you just tape around the cladding?

Is this the case? I have an 03 XLT with the gray textured cladding that I would like to add the flares to.
If anyone who has used these could post some pictures it would be great.
Well, I got 'em installed today and they look good. Definitely worth the $125.
They go on easily enough and have the Ford logo on the back along with the OEM quality you would expect. These are the titanium color. Platinum is a tad darker.
See more pics in my gallery.

They look very nice. I have never seen an xlt expedition with the fender flares so I think this will help our cars stand out. I am paying for mine tomorrow. I got the same ones on ebay.
