new truck guys!!

Hey boys, I got a new truck today. A 2005 5.4L FX4 Silver Ext. Cab F-150. It is actually used, which brought it to my attention at first. It has 13,000 miles and runs like a charm. I already have front and taillight blackouts on it, looks pretty mean. But I'll be sure to post some pictures soon. My dad is making me clean the old 4.2L out to be sold. Sad thing, but a good thing at the same time. I'll be sure to stick around this forum, but if anyone really needs me, drop me a line in the 04-05 forum.

Congrats on the new ride!

Just remeber where your roots are. Remeber you are branded with the 4.2 in your screen name so remeber to stop by from time to time. Its been a great pleasure in sharing this forum with you..

What the heck am I talking about, get the (bleeep) out of this forum you (bleeping) upgrader. Let me guess the 4.2 wasn't big enough for you, was it lacking the towing power. Did you need a bigger truck because you are so self concese about yourself. What.. what.. you are going to start crying, thats right you will start crying when you have to change spark plugs and you have to bust some knuckles trying to get the back two plugs out. Don't worry I sure you will be back. Just take having 4.2 in your screen name that will haunt you for the rest of your trucks life.

OK OK in all serusness you have a wonderful time in your new truck. Man wish I could have one.

Congrats on your new ride.
I hope you enjoy it and it serves you well.
I am enjoying my '05. I stayed with the 4.2 - mostly a matter of cost to buy and the total cost of ownership.

See you 'round.

thanks guys. One thing I do know, is that the 3 valve 5.4L is so much faster than the 4.2. Not saying that to hurt yalls feelings or anything im just kiddin. But anyways, the main reason I upgraded to the monster is because I wanted an extended cab and I love the new models. My dad still has his 2004 5.4L FX4. It is the exact same as my truck besides 3 things, his is black-mines silver, i have a 6 cd changer-he doesn't, and he has the middle console shifter-and mine is on the steering column. I'll be sure to get some pictures on here soon.

Hopefully its doesn't run like my 2004 5.3L vortec. At start off It gets down and goes, but at any other speed, its drives like a dog. I like to know where the 300HP is?

haha I bet you did Garrett. Cameron-Starting in 2004 Ford introduced the 3 valve 5.4L, previously they were all 2 valve. The 04-05 5.4L engines have two intake valves and one exhaust valve (per cylinder). I know it does have 300 HP though, the 97-03 5.4 liters didn't have quite that muchyou can look up the specs if you don't believe me.

Does Joe post around here anymore? I know he bought that supercrew not too long ago..?

Hey, Cameron...I found the "where did the 300 HP come from" answer.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/specs/2005/2005_f150.html

And here is the difference with the 97-03 models, comparing them with the 04-05 models.

WOOOOOOOOOAHHH...Hit the brakes...2004 5.3L Vortec...I was hoping it didn't run like my SC Silverado Automatic 5.3L. Its supposed to have 300 HP. I was not talking about the ford 5.4L. Thought I'd better clear that subject up.
