I run a pair of 15" and they sound awesome in the bronco. Just need a solid sub box.

Sky's the limit.... well maybe your wallet and imagination are

SUV's usually get better response from subs when faced straight up, or at each other from oposites sides of the truck, slightly angled toward the front

I had 4 10's facing up (box took up the whole back) in my old '78 Bronco. Sounded great with and without the top on. This was all on a high schoolers budget (WAY back in the day) too so you can imagine the crappy components in there..

I've moved my box all around in my little bronco (BII) and I've found the best way is facing the back. I've done a little research on this because usually speakers sound better when they're facing you, but in the case of subwoofers, it's opposite. There's several studies to show that both the dB level is higher and the SQ is better.

I had six 15's in a bronco II with 3 precision power amps on them. I liked the sound but it was loud if nothing else.

you can't just say they WILL sound better. every vehicle is different, and not everyone likes the same sound.

Try both ways..and see which direction YOU like the best.

There have been several studies in all sorts of vehicle types ranging from Mini Coopers to Sedans (with the subs in the trunk) to full size trucks and SUV's and all showed that the dB level was higher in the front seat and the sound quality was better.

wtf are you talking about? studies about what? with the subs facing towards the trunk/tailgate?

it varies for every vehicle...there is no "solution" as to which way sounds better or is louder (btw, sound quality is subjective)
Every car has a different transient response...you CAN NOT say one thing applies to all vehicles.

I would love to see the results of those so called "tests"...

Yea about the subs facing the rear.. sorry bout the confusion.

Some individuals tested their cars and their friends cars with frequency analysers on microphone and dB meters and all sorts of crap. I'll look for the stuff later and post it. Personally I don't care, it's just I was saying some guys did this and in their cases they found that subs facing the rear of the vehicle sounded better in every application.
