Hi all, just a quick question. I have a 79 f250 with a 300 6 cyl in it. It s a custom. I was stuck the other day and I thought I noticed both tires spinning . I have no Idea, but is it possible this truck has both tires as drive tires? Not to familiar with the old fords. thanks
You can post the axle code off of the data sticker in the doorjam, or look at the tag on the rearend and post the numbers here. We can decode it for ya.
easiest way to tell if the axle is limited slip or locking is to jack both rear wheels off the ground with the trans in park or in gear if man and the engine off try to turn one of the wheels by hand if on turns foward and one turns backword its an open dif if they wont turn try it in nuetral. an open dif will spin both wheels alot of the time if in lose dirt or low traction situations
