I was reading a post below about cdr valves and somone said they switched theres to a road draft tube. I was thinking of doing this because the engine in my truck came out of an international school bus and the cdr runs from the valve cover to the intake. There is no room for the cdr because of the tranny dipstick. So I was going to take a hose and run it into a can from the valve cover and plug the intake. Is it ok to do this? Somone told me it will burn more oil like this, is that true? Will not having a cdr cause any problems? I just went through alot of work to put this engine in and I dont want any problems. Thanks for the help.
you won't burn more oil, you'll just see what used to get dumped into the air intake.
i hear you'll get way too much 'splash' coming off a valve cover (mine was in the valley pan), so don't go that route. i'd plug that valve cover too. maybe you can get a 'normal' VP from a boneyard? maybe yours already has a hole that's plugged?
many guys come off the IP cover plate with a custom plate or one supplied by Banks (or is it ATS?).
