I can see where your coming from. When I had the FMX in my stang, it would chirp the tires on the 2-3 shift.....when I put in the c-6, it would only chirp them on the 1-2 shift....but not the 2-3 shift.....The car went faster though with the c-6...Go figure. As for the weight....dont try to tell me that the C-6 weighs more than the FMX....I (actually my chest) KNOW how much it weighs. I couldnt tell you how much it weighs by the pound, but I had both of them on my chest at one point in time or another, and the FMX was the second heaviest transmission I have EVER lifter of had fall out of a car on me. The first heaviest was not the C-6...it was a cheby 4 speed manual. Talk about lead....maybe I just got weaker over the years. :S

Heavy all over yes.
Take the innards and weigh them.
The FMX has a cast iron case where the C6 is aluminum.
I used my chest for a jack too.
Until I watched another mechanic doing the same thing.
He rested the input shaft on the housing so he could catch his breath.
The shaft slipped and he stopped it with his teeth.

Well, the overall weight is something that will slow the car down too. Yeah, the innards of the C-6 may weigh more, but the FMX has it beat as far as overall weight....Now, the C-6 VS C-4.....well, I still give it to the C-4. The C-6 weighs more, and takes more HP to run. Of the three, I still pick the C-4 for a performance point of view. Now, for longevity, I pick the FMX then the C-6. I threw EVERYHING I had at that FMX and still couldnt kill it. But then again, my motor was only making around 350 hp at that time....now I have a motor that makes around 500. The C-6 is still holding up....This is the thrird season. When I get a trans-brake I'm sure I'll break it. You know where I can get one?
