What size torx bit socket is needed for front drivers seat removal?

I need to remove my drivers seat on my 1997 F150 XLT Supercab 4.6L v8. The biggest one I have is a T55 but it does not fit tight but wobbles.

What size torx bit socket do I need for the drivers seat removal?

I want to say it is a T50.
You do know that an Allen wrench will work also?

My biggest torx bit socket is a T55 and it is loose in the bolt head, not a tight fit. I don't have any allen wrenches near that big.

It is either a T50 or T45 that fits those screws. (My money is on the T50) Go to an auto part's store and tell them what you are trying to take out and they will sell you one of the two if you don't have one. That's the best I can do for you.

It can't be a T50 or T45. My T55 is too loose in the head of the bolt. A T50 or T45 would be even looser.

That is because a T55 is larger than a T50 or T45. They go like this: 10,15,20,25,27,30,40,45,47,50,55,60

A T55 is a 1/2" A T50 is a 7/16" a T45 is 3/8" a T30 is a 1/4" size torque head in pan head.
The hex head is a little different and you don't have those or the flat head ones.

Or if you like:
-Size Inch Metric T45 .306" 7.82 mm T50 .346" 8.83 mm T55 .440" 11.22 mm

I have a T45, T50 and T55. The T50 is bigger than the T45 and the T55 is bigger than the T50. The T45 and T50 just spins in the hole and doesn't even touch the sides of the hole. The T55 does touch some of the sides of the hole but it is not a good fit because it wobbles. It will round the edges if pressure is applied.

Remember these are torx bits and not hex heads.

If the T55 is too small then you need the T60 torque bit as that is the last one that I know of used in trucks or cars. You will have to get one of those or drill the bolt out with a drill bit and then tap it out. Drill almost all the way through and use a easyout to get the shank out. Just get a drill bit that is smaller than the bolt shank (the piece that screws into the nut that holds the bolt and seat down). Making sure to drill straight down into the metal about halfway of the shank or a little more and tap it out. Then put a bolt in that you have a wrench for or a torque bit for.

I just ordered a T60 from Amazon. I'll see if that works.

I just tried my 55 and 60 torx in the seat belt floor bolts on my 02 f150. The 55 wobbles and the 60 doesn't fit. Never tried it in the seat rail bolts but if they're the same.......
I would highly recommend going under the truck and clean the bolts protruding threads before trying to remove so as not to seize them on removal. I don't know if they have threadlocker on them so it may be wise to heat them slightly from underneath with a propane torch to soften the threadlocker.

Torx T55. Mine is from Lisle, I probably got it at NAPA.

Just got my T60 from Amazon and it doesn't fit. TOO big. None of my allen wrenches fit either. My T55 wobbles in the hole. I wonder if they make a T57.5? LOL

Yup, that's why I was suggesting some ways to alleviate the strain on the T-55 being loose. There are videos of using inductive heaters to assist in removing seat belt bolts so I assume they're have thread locker on them.
