5 mpg. Why?

I have a 1985 f150 xl w/ 6" lift 35" tires, 351W, holley carb, heavy duty bumper.....Only getting 5-6mpg. Why would this be? carb was jetted down two sizes and hardly made a difference.

Probably the combination of the 6" lift and the 35" tyres giving you approximately 34.2% more frontal area that you're trying to push through the air as you travel along. Now, given that aerodynamics is an inverse square relationship, stands to reason that your MPG is about 1/3 what it should be.
