Low Sulphur Diesel

Low Sulphur Diesel
I live too close to California, and I keep hearing talk about California going to a low sulphur diesel. How will this affect the older diesels? Having held a Class A California Smog Lic. in the 70s. Once California goes in a direction with smog so goes the country. Is this why diesel here in Nevada is $2.50-$2.70 / gal. when gas is $2.13-$2.29 / gal.? This reminds me of when we went from reg to unleaded reg. In time we were pretty much forced to buy newer cars and trucks. One more thing, isn't this maybe why Ford built the 6.0 L diesel, for low sulphur fuel, could this be why the 6.0 is having it share of trouble? I think we are dreaming if we think Ford is going to start running Cummins. They didn't spend the money on the 6.0 to throw it out for Cummins.
I have been thinking of these things, what are your thoughts on this subject?

the newer motors are fine on the low sulpher fuel. sulpher it self isnt a lubricant the problem is the some of the lubricants get lost when they lower the sulpher in the fuel. were going to no sulpher fuel in 2007. most of the country is already on the low sulpher fuel right now anyway. there just making up excuses to gouge us at the pump is all it is. navistars are gonna be in fords for years to come, the cummins/dodge contract is through 2009 i belive. i really dont think we will ever see a cummins in a ford, but ya never know....id rather have my navistar in my truck over the cummins anyway.
