Well the time has come for me to take care of business. I just finished typing my letter that I am sending" certified" to ford and my dealer. Ive been playing "the repair game for way too long".I called the service manager last week and left a message on his voice mail telling him that the "frame damper" did not work and to call me so we can ressolve this bounce/vibration and steering wheel nibble.I dont expect ford to take back my truck because the vibration is not as bad as some of the trucks posted in here but its definately there. All i did was mention all the invoice numbers on my trucks repair history and stated"in 1 of the TSBs for the vibration was that ford recommend the EVA analyzer to pinpoint source and that my dealer did not perform this because they dont have the analyzer". I am forced to take the word of the mechanic who drives my truck maybe 10 minutes. I want ford to ressolve this issue PLUS Im asking for an extended warranty to give me "piece of mind",cause its been over a year and they still cant ressolve the issues. The engineers cant guarantee that this will not effect the performance of the truck down the road,
GO GET EM REDCREW04 i know how u feel man.... i am so fed up with my truck i can't stand it. i have never even had the feeling of enjoying a new truck and on top of that this is my dream truck so needless to say i am very disappointed in FORD. This is my first FORD, plus my first supercab and 4x4. I seriously don't think i will ever buy another f150. i drove an f250 supercab powerstroke diesel, turbocharged and man that thing would fly, plus it felt so solid...steering and all.... don't know what's going to happen with my deal but i hope i can get what i want out of it....GO GET EM MAN.... DON'T LET EM TRY TO FOOL YOU. Keep us posted on what happens.
Yeah good luck even getting a reply from Ford, I've been in the DSB black hole scense Jan. My 04 was taken to my clueless dealer back in Nov 04, and replaced with an 05 (exact same truck except for color) in Jan 05, (which cost me another $1800) and it too has the driveline shudder, but it is not as bad as the 04. Now Im stuck, nowhere else to turn. So I say if you can get out, do it! (make them buy it back under lemon law, do not replace it with another problem child) As I have said before, FOMOCO is aware of the driveline shudder (its been around sense 1999 or so) And I don't believe they ever intend to fix it, they just hope it will go away!!
Im am, and always have been a die hard "American made" fan, but I seriously doubt that I will ever buy another Ford!!
Hey guys Ill let you know what the outcome is...Dont get me wrong I love my truck just tired of the games they play.....Im gonna try to squeeze them for an extened warranty........
