There are converters on the interweb....
Ford called a 302 a 5.0, but it is really a 4.9.
1 liter = 61.024 cubic inches.
1 cubic inch = 16.387 cubic centimeters.

I guess we can't call the 300 a 4.9 anymore. I got a 250/4.1 (see sig.) but they're still not compatable in terms of 'output'.
When U say "5.4" that reminds me of the "351" - or is that "5.8"? I saw one out the other day, yes, they're both V8s and it's a totally different motor today, (eventho it has about the same displacement).

A Ford 302 is really 301.59289474462014 cubic inches, which converts to 4942.221589866571 cubic centimeters, or 4.942221589866571 liters.
A Ford 300 is really 300.0849302708971 cubic inches, which converts to 4917.510481917238 cubic centimeters, or 4.917510481917238 liters.
Both the liter numbers round to 4.9 if you only go two places and follow standard rounding practices. Ford rounded the V8 up for marketing purposes.
So you can still call a 300 a 4.9 because it is.

8^0
Again, since the technology has advanced so much the numbers (cubes v Ltrs) don't mean so much, 2 me.
BTW: it looks like all the newer vehicles will have big 'puter screens in the dash. Too bad, I think it looks weird.
