gas prices suck i'm gonna run mine on moonshine

gas just hit 2.25 for reg today my truck sucks dino juice about 5 miles to the gallon. so since i live in illinois' corn belt i figure i can make my 460 high compression and run on grain alcohol that i can brew my self. well just a thought. anymore i can only afford to drive my truck 1 day a week to play.

well i guess if i cant burn it i could just drink it

I support you! Just brew enough so you can operate AND drink (though not drinking and operating).

And if you can't get enough...I'd just drink it...

haha, yeah thats what i was thinking too! i live up in northern illinois and the gas is ridiclious here! we pay more in gurnee than the people do in evanston. i was just there over the weekend and gas was $2.25. but gas up here in gurnee is $2.38!!!! gas is supposed to be more expensive in the city! its not fair

last time i fueled up, it was 2.14, here, for 87 octane, in northwest montana, but i haven't done a serious fuel price check to see who's runnin cheap and who's runnin high....i know that i got a coupon from Kum & Go (my g/f HATES that name) for 5 cents off per gallon, 8 gallon min, 35 gal. max....hopefully i can get both my tanks filled up before i hit 35 gallons....hehehe....

Think thats bad gas here in edmonton is 90cents a litre (works out to be roughly 3 bucks a us gallon in american), and then my dad is paying more for farm gas (its like 85 too) then you do as well, something needsto be done about these prices.

i love me powerstroke ! we pay something like $1.50 a gallon for the dyed stuff for our equipment and any left over... well it gets dumped in my tanks cause i wouldn't want the stuff to go bad or anything . if i ran propane injection i'd get better fuel mileage more power and presumably pay less for diesel but then i would still have to buy the propane!

I am always interested in alternative fuels, especially if they provide superior power at a financial savings.... with that being said, I would like to volunteer to test the moonshine fuel. BTW - I usually put in about 15 gal. at a time, but my test associates and I prefer the 15 gallons in 750 ml "sampling" bottles.

Thx.

y, Gas prices in Des Moines, Ia - like everywhere else - on the way up. $2.10 ish

If I had a PSD I'd be pretty torn about finding some way to convert a dual tank setup to a single with a second hidden cell (under a toolbox or IN a toolbox) that held the dyed fuel.

The "red dyed" stuff is for FARM USE ONLY... But as long as you dont get pulled over, who cares. What MPG do you get? Im at 16 @ 65 w/ 35's and 3.55's
Propane injection is a good idea, fishy. DIY for $200.

It is for 94 IDI & older, but you could do something similar, using a vacuum induction to inject it into hte airstream.

That's why i said fabricate a hidden cell to keep the dyed stuff in, and have the other tank to carry the clear.

I didn't. LOL I said if I did have a PSD, I'd be HARD PRESSED not to do something like that. The prospect of 1.50 diesel vs the 2.30 diesel we have here....wowzers. Plus dyed has a higher sulfer content, doesn't it?

If you give me a PSD and the tools, I'll be glad to spring for a disposable camera to take pics =).
