PCM Code Location - 2004 F150 STX 4X4

Hi folks,

I just wanted someone to do a sanity check on me. After not finding the PCM in the same location it was on my old truck, I went hunting for it. The guidlines on Motorhaven didn't turn up anything (unless I missed it).

The only thing I found on the truck that may be it is bolted in the enging compartment to the passenger side of the firewall. It has three large harnesses on it and some Motorola part numbers. There is a 4 digit code on it that reads CRX0. Did I find the right code?

I'm looking to purchase the Diablo Sport 3 stage. Hopefully they have a program for my computer, I didn't have any luck in that department on my last truck.

Yes, that's the right code. This is a Heritage Edition?

Thanks Ken. No, not a heritage. Just a plain ol' 4x4 STX. Is there a reason you ask? Do I need some other piece of information to order the chip?

Yeah, the reason I ask is only the 2004 F-150 Heritage Edition will take a chip. For the newer body style you have to use a Superchips Microtuner, DiabloSport Predator or a SCT Xcalibrator.

That's about my luck. Thanks for the info. I guess I'll do some research on the tuners.

The main thing I wanted was to adjust the transmission shift points. Bad enough I had to settle for a automatic transmission, but this think takes FOREVER to down shift when I head up the mountain pass. Even if I floor it.

Thanks again.

You can adjust the tranny with the Diablo, SCT and Superchips. The 2004+ F-150 picks up a good 25+ HP with a Diablo, Superchips and SCT. With the Predator and SCT you can bump up the timing if your local fuel is good enough and get more power.
