Question wastegate adjustments..?

just wondering what you guys think. i have a stock 02 F350 7.3. i read in one post that you can adjust your wastgate actuator, or disconect it. what do you gain in boost if you do either of these. i don't have gauges, yet, so, where am i with the stock boost setup, and can i do better without hurting anything..? thanks guys...

I disconnected mine and capped the hose. I also removed the other line from the intake boot and plugged the hole in the boot with a large stainless steel screw. I put a small universal fuel filter on the end of the hose to keep the dirt out. I then disconnected the wastegate actuator and tightened up the adjustment about 4 or 5 turns and reattached it. I didn't want to run it all the way down at the time, I was a little paranoid about popping something.

when i adjusted the actuator arm on my wastgate (which was already disconnected) it gained me 3 psi of boost in the stock tune (went from 20-23psi) and i dont know how much on my hot tune because it buries the gauge. here are directions on how to do it, scroll down to the 23rd post:https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...d.php?t=250885

thanks guys, i just dug a little deeper into the other post, and that helped, but thanks for the info on the stock boost... if it will stop raining here, i might be able to get this mod done.... although, if i do this, it would probably void my warranty...! i'll have to think about it....
