I need some more clearence. How much lift would be good with 33"s? I know 33's can be fit stock but I'm looking more for the clearence than the tire size. Would it be best to get a 6" lift with 35's. Again I know people who have fit 35's with a 3"body lift but I'm really going for the clearence here. I was thinking about skyjacker and Firestone destination M/T's. Destination's only go up to 33's. Any opinions or experience?
With a 4.6 I might be tempted to stay with the 33's except that you are looking for ground clearance. 35's will provide the clearance you need and there are a myriad of tire choices to go with. Along with the clearance issue is articulation. You need a 6" lift if you are going to use the truck off-road even moderately with 35's as you will need extension and compression room in the suspension and wheel well clearance. A guy at work has a 2003 with a 6" lift and 35's. Truck looks good, has plenty of potential and has never been off-road, except to the Sonic on Friday night.

he never said ground clearance! he is looking for fender clearance.
it all depends on what you wanna spend! the 33's would be the way to go if you don't wanna sink too much into it for now. but if money is no issue than a 6" lift with some 35's would be ideal. of course then you'll need everything from new steering components to longer shocks to possibly longer driveshafts!
