Red-stroker,
I bought a 00 last year and I would recommend replacing all the fluids. I believe Ford recommends changing the tranny fluid at 100 000 k. ATF is used for the tranny.

I asked the same question in the transmission forum here and have got no response so far, maybe here is a better place to ask. The manual says every 60k and the fluid is ATF. I too have just over 80k on my '02 but I wanted to find out about the t-case and what fluid that takes and how much. My manual doesn't tell me.
I know that in the 94 i went over 200k before I changed it and it was fine........but like they say ATF is not a very heavy duty oil and breaks down fast and therefore should be changed regular.

MERCON ATF in the tranny and case. Both should be done at 60 000 miles or 48 months. Tranny holds 5.8 quarts with a six speed. As for the t-case, filll it till the fluid is level with the lower part of the fill hole, amount escapes me at the moment.
