Smile

I was just checking if anyone would notice I had .3 more liters. lol

The radar works great. I like have the mute button close for convenience. The actual detector is located at the top of the window.

Very nice. I like the features on your alarm: auto open/close. I wish I could one-touch my windows and moonroof to close. I know it's done that way for safety though.

The safety is still there. If you put any pressure on the window as its going up it shuts off.

oh, cool. Too bad it doesn't come from the factory that way. No, I'm not too lazy to hold the button down but it's be a good feature to have added! If I get an alarm I'll look into that. Thanks for the info.

Looks good!

I have the same Escort Brand detector (8500), I just put my hardwire kit in yesterday. I put the remote where you have your lighter. It seems to be the perfect location for the mute and all.

One question i have for you, one of your picture states you have, what appears to be a black button to allow your stearing wheel controls to work with your aftermarket HU. What is it and how does it work?

Thanks

Its a IR repeater. The way it works is like this. You plug your steering control wiring harness in to this device and the program the device with your aftermarket remote control. You can make the buttons do what ever you want. In my truck I found that the best place to mount the little IR bulb is on the plastic molding that surrounds the interior light. You can get this device at on the web or just about any car electronics place. I paid 49.99, but I have heard of people paying 39.99. Here's a picture.
