I have the "Broken Blend Door Syndrome"....so I have installed a shutoff valve in the heater hose that feeds to the heater core. This allows my AC to still work because the water in the heater core is not hot anymore. Just sucks that I have to pop the hood to change between heat and cold...lol...
My question is, will this hurt my cooling system? Let air in? It just seems that by not actually "circulating" the water thru the core, it may open up an air pocket to take the core's place.
Should I put in some type of bypass valve that actually directs the water over to the other heater hose and back to the engine instead? Or am I just to paranoid?
Yea I have tried the pin fix, 3 times...i think mine is so broke to pieces that its useless....my only option left is to replace the plenum....$200 more than what I have at the moment hehe...and I sure couldnt afford to have the dealer replace...
