Mass-Air Mods
Looking for input from folks that have upgraded their 5.0 engines with aftermarket Mass Airflow meters, throttle body spacers and/or new throttle bodies. I've got a '94 F150 with headers, K&N, pulleys-other bolt-on's. Anyone done these mods with success? I also followed a string about electric fans. Didn't see any mentions about flex-fans. Has anyone gone that route?

I converted my 89 F150 5L truck several years ago to mass air knowing I would eventually be installig performance parts. I can't see too much performance gain from the items you mentioned unless you perform other mods. I have installed headers, high flow 2 1/2" catalytic converter and exhaust, MSD 6a with adjustable timing control, K&N air filter. None of these mods made a big difference. I will be installing a pair of Edelbrock p/n 6037 cylinder heads and possibly a roller cam. That should unleash some noticeable horsepower and torque considering the stock Ford heads are restrictive and are probably why the above mentioned mods did not do very much.

I ported and polished the heads on my 5.0, soon I'll probably be dropping the heads my brothers mustang came stock with though, but before that I'm gonna be having a look at the ports and everything to see if they really are an upgrade, as both of our cars have over 100k miles and the valve springs arent at there best...
