Motor/Trans Swap
My friend has an 87 Ranger 4wd 5spd that he swapped out the 4 banger for a 2.9 from a 89 or 90 BII. We're having a problem getting it to fire, and I was wondering if anyone has done a similar swap and what they did about having a manual trans in with a motor running an automatic computer and harness. Everything else seems fine but i plan on checking timing with my gun again cause i'm not so sure about his but the thing ran when it came out of the bII and the distributor was never loosened. We have the clutch switch up to take the place of the neutral safety on the auto trans harness so it wont crank without the clutch. Is there some of the other wires at the auto trans plug that need hooked up? Thanks for any help.
