I have read a few posts about the gas mileage for the new F-150s and they don't look too promising.

One item that was not clear is if the bad mileage is specific to a model to general to all. Some models due allow for an upgraded engine.

I was wondering what mileage people are getting with the following F-150s with the base engine:

Base XL
Base XLT (SuperCrew)

04 SCrew, 4.6, 20 town, 22.5+hiway. The fuel mileage is the only reason I haven't burned this truck to the ground. Otherwise, the unfixed warranty items are far too many to list.

 

flash is the truck really that bad? I wish i could get that kind of mileage. 16 for me scab 4x4 2005.
