No, You will notice that tha mlp has a raised line on the outside face. Line up the raised line with the white internal tube notches and that is neutral. Make sure the vehicle is secured with blocks before and aft of the tires so it wont roll.
Install the mlp with loose bolts
place the trans in neutral with the lever at the trans then line up the notches and raised line
tighten bolts and recheck by starting the vehicle in neutral to test.
are you replacing the MLP? If so install dielectric grease into the electrical connector to protect from moisture! Generally the MLP does not need to be realigned unless disturbed.
