A request for anyone who knows salvage yards

This is a odd request, but its from my boss and he wanted information about this so i figured id post here as well to get peoples opinions and such. What is the top 10 parts taken from vehicles out of salvage yards? IE: radio out of a civic or something of the sort. Any ideas? i called a few salvage yards around the area and they basically laughed at me. Any help would be appreciated! thanks in advance

1) One very common 1st item is a good bench seat or bucket seats from a pickup.
2) loose change!!!
3) good tires/rims/mags
4) Good engine/trans
5) straight bumpers/fenders/doors.
6) good straight PU tailgate
7) aftermarket performance goodies
8) anything that someone can hide in their pockets/toolbox (if it is a pick it yourself yard).
9) Tools left behind bysomeone else!!
10) definately not the dog.
Just my observtions

well if he does, make sure he knows his books good first. epa fine for leaking batteries and such get expensive fast, especially if theres water near by. tell him to invest in a good, big, hard to climb fence to.

Alot of it depens on the model and what is apt to break. For example, the Geo metro has these very cheap door handles that will easily break when they are pulled too hard with the door locked. New they cost over 50 bucks from chevrolet, but at the junkyard they are cheap. My brother in law has a metro and everytime he goes there he gets all he can find because they keep breaking.

Older V8 engines are becoming rare items to find. Even finding a 350 is getting tough. Lots of 305's to have.

Having the right parts isn't near as important as having the right mix of cars. I know that when I go to the junkyard for one thing for my truck I usually come back with several things for my car, my gf's car, ect... Gotta keep the people coming back.

Well in our yard it all depends but this is close Dodge overdrive transmissions, axles all brands , tempo/escorts spindles, alternaters, fuel pumps/gas tanks, wheels, tires engines, body parts ect, little trim parts, chevy 2.0 heads, dodge 2.2/2.5 heads radiators used to be a big item but not any longer also used to sell a lot of calipers and rotors but since autozone/oreillys came to town hardly sell any now.
