Changing lower ball joints on a Volare clip

While having the front end aligned on my 48 last Saturday my front end guy brought it to my attention that one of my lower ball joints was going bad. My question to any of you with the Volare setup is, can I change the lower ball joints with out removing the lower control arm or does it have to be removed and the joint pressed out?

I do not know why you would have to remove the lower to get the ball out. Just be sure to hold the weight of truck up from the lower arm. remove the upper and spindle/rotor so you have lots of room to work. I did it like that on a friends truck with no prob at all. I rebuilt my own off car since it is new construction and to powder the arms. USE CAUTION /Wear gloves.
PS: The socket for the upper is also a free rent at Autozone. ( Loosen while still on car)

I believe it could be pulled on the car with a balljoint press. Available for a free rental from Autozone etc. Don't try to bang it out with a hammer. It won't happen. And the upper joints screw in if you ever do those.
