We recently bought an '84 F-150 1/2 ton 4x4 with the 300 I-6. After we replaced the belts we found that the lower mounting bolt was missing. All we have holding the alternator on is the adjusting bolt. I have tried every source I know of to locate a replacment bolt with no luck. Does anyone know of a part number or the deminsions of the bolt? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for helping a newbie out!
Hi...It is 3/8 or 7/16 diameter coarse thread grade 8, not sure how long. you can pick this up at a home improvement store and it should work. this should fix ya up...
I wonder if that's the alternator bolt I pulled from the rear tire on my Mustang?
I was heading north on I-95 in Georgia, stopped for gas and heard the left rear tire hissing. When I finally found someone to fix it, we pulled a 3/8" X 6" bolt out.
