This is so good I had to share it with you all. Took my F-250 truck into the shop to have a bunch of front end stuff done (ball joints, alignment etc.). I went to pick it up today, and the mechanic came out and said "She's not quite ready yet. Just give us another hour to finish the transmission install"
Um ... since when do ball joints require removing the transmission?
Here's what happened: About the time I brought my truck in, another very similar truck came in for a full transmission rebuild. You got it, they accidently pulled my transmission instead and DID A COMPLETE REBUILD ON IT!
They were very apologetic for their screw-up, and of course didn't charge me for the tranny rebuild. I tried my hardest to act a little angry about it, but it was tough when all I could think about was my free tranny rebuild!
I told them next time they get a truck in for a complete engine rebuild to let me know, I'll bring mine in for an oil change!
Oh, I did check to make sure the front end components went on MY truck!
Hey 66coupenw, weren't you just complaining a few posts ago that the prices for the ball joints seemed kinda high? now you know why...it's all the free service they give!
