First oil-change
Since, I can't be sure of the last service mileage, I want to change the oil myself. I have done a search of the site for a simple how-to, without luck.
I have changed the oil in my gassers right along. Is there any difference in the process for the powerstroke?
Any advice on other fluid changes will also be appreciated. Thanks!
but anyhow... and fill the oil filter with oil before you screw it back on. This is also a good time to check the air filter and change the fuel filter (since you don't know when it was done last) Wouldn't be a bad idea to get some test strips and check the antifreeze too

Yes, it makes sense, and that is the way it should be done. In other words, mine holds 15 quarts. I fill the filter with 1 to 1/2 quarts. The rest of the 15 quarts goes into the crankcase. 15 total, including filter. If you don't fill the filter before installation, then you just put the 15 quarts in the crankcase.
I have a 4x4 f250 - I find a 5-gallon bucket works very nicely for draining out the old oil.
