jesus-man they are ok. pretty neat job i have been looking for something to improve air flow on my 1974 broncos carb.Thinking on running a k&n i seen a piece on a horse power tv todat its was on a mustang car a they made a sheild around the carb to trap alll the air flow from the scope on the hood.
They sealed it with some foam adhesive from a hardwear store pretty neat idea.
What improvements have you noticed from your modification
again you did a nice job

I haven't had much of a chance to test my results. I did wheel over the weekend and it didn't vapor lock, which is the main reason I put vent in. It cut out one time for no reason, but started back up, so I am not sure what happened there. I will know more what these vents did this summer when the weather is warm.
K&N makes a round filter with filter media on top as well as on the sides. That would help out quite a bit. My bronco doesn't have a lot of power, so I won't notice any even if I gained some.

symptoms: bronco running fine, then just cuts out and dies, Will not fire again. Pop the hood, wait a few minutes and she starts right up. Usually it's the gas boiling in the carb or the lines and our engine won't run on gas-fuel. It needs to be liquid-fuel.
First thing I did was bypass the mechanical pump and put in an Electric pump (with hidden switch for anti-theft). Then I rerouted the lines to the coolest places I thought there were. Next I insulated the lines with 1/2 copper line insulation from Homedepot. That all helped, but hasn't cured the problem. I have since raised my idle to about 1100 and that has been my best luck. If you keep getting vapor locked and can run with your hood popped, that seems to do the trick for me. You can add an electric fan, but I just havn't got the far.
The ultimate cure? 5.0 EFI!!
