F100 Tapered Hood Bonanza

F100 Tapered Hood Bonanza
Over the years I have seen a few "pie cut"/tapered hoods at the Supernats. Does anyone know who has or could do one of these?
I have often said that the "hood" remains the last great frontier for the F100 enthusiasts....almost always, no matter what they do to the truck, the hood remains boring stock, with no scoops or taper. Amazing, since it's right there out front.
Looking at a side view of a stock truck, the F100 has an ugly nose. The direct side view is the least attractive due to the nose. Can you say Barbara Streisand?
If you've ever seen a tapered hood once you'd want one; it is done with a pie cut taking out about 3+" or so at the thickest cut part, the front center, wrapping around the sides to points up by the firewall end. This makes for a smooth, stock looking, natural flowing look.
Someone could make a lot of money by producing a quantity of these hoods, whether they be steel or glass. Just remember where you heard it first..I get one as commission.

Didn't know you moved from Md.
A foreigner without a license smacked into the front of the red truck May 2, '93 in Alexandria; we fixed it and sold it (reluctantally-needed $) a few years later or so; got back into it, have gone through a # of F100s, all years 53 through 56; now have a 55 panel and 55 pickup....neither as nice as your red one! Wish we would have never sold it, you know how that goes.

this sounds a lot simpler than it really is "all" you have to do is take a 2 inch cut from the center front of the hood, taper that to a zero cut on the sides and weld it back together, the total bead will be about 70 to 80 inches long. oh yeah, weld it back together without ruining the hood. I am being faceitious but it can be done it just takes a while and you really need to brace this thing and line it up before you start cutting/welding. not a job for a first time welder but it can be done

I was just re-reading the post from Axracer, got me to thinking (a dangerous thing) suppose "you" were to slice the hood completely in half, slide the top forward and then recreate the rear edges, it would change the height without really altering the shape. Maybe put the stock emblems back on. Could be one of those mods that make people talk to themselves and scratch their face. "Just what did he do here?"

FF56,
I think you would also have to split the top down the center and open it at the front so it would match the width as well, but it might actually be the easier way to do it rather than pie cutting and shrinking in all those concave compound curves around the front. It could be pretty stealthy tho.
