Motorcraft 15w40 Superduty Oil

Local Walmart stopped carrying Motorcraft 15w40 for my Powerstoke 6.0L. Does anyone know where else can I get it besides the dealer?

Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff- I'll probably get flamed for this response (it won't be the first or last time) I'd go with the Mobil1 synthetic 5w40- IMO You will be very pleased with how your 6.0 runs with it... This opinion seems to be shared by a lot of 6.0 owners. I've had my 6.0 for over two years & 50,000 miles and it runs better than the day I bought it new!

Buy the Mobil1 on sale at any of the larger auto stores- Go 5,000 miles between changes and it will pay for itself with the typical 1 mpg increase- Good luck

Not to flame anybody but, the old Mobil One, while dual rated for diesel use, is not rated for the 6.0 PSD. It is rated for the 7.3 PSD. The new formulations of Mobil One which would be their 15,000, is also not rated for the 6.0 PSD. It has to do with the additive package, in particular, the anti-foaming agents. If you want the Mobil Synthetic, use their Delvac 1. It's the best oil out there in a synthetic. If you want to stay with a good dino oil like the Motorcraft, I would suggest finding Delo 400+. The + is the important part. It will have a good shot of moly for the barrier lube state. Test results have been darn good. Also, Rotella T turns in some good low wear metal numbers as well as Mystic. Mystic is one of those sleeper oils that nobody ever thinks about. It is under the Citgo flag now and can usually be had at a farm supply and is generally well priced. Motorcraft has been hawking their goods thru some of the Pep Boys. If you still want to use it, you might start there.

I run the Mobil1 Truck & SUV 5w40 rated CI-4, which supposedly is the same as the Delvac 1...or else a bunch of folks on the 6.0 Forum are liars. (stranger things could happen)
Seriously- Flash, glad to hear that you think it's the best out there- I've been very pleased with the operation and also had analysis which came out well. There has been recent discussion that the Delvac 1 isn't as easy to find anymore now that Mobil has increased marketing & distribution of the "Truck & SUV" label.

Thanks for the feedback and information. I am currently running Rotella T Synthetic 5w-40 during the cold months. I thought I should switch back to a 15w-40 for the warmer months.

Thanks again,
Jeff

Other places that carry MC oil are Autozone and Advance Auto parts, assuming you have them in your area.
