that would make some sense. Do you know for a fact that the gp are working properly?
Mine smokes terriable at start up even with my manual gp button. Seemed like this morning when I started to go milk I turned the key and got my jacket on (it was alot colder than i expected prob 30 or so) the truck started like it was mid 40*s out
Needless to say letting the fuel heater run for that 30 sec or so made all the difference in teh world almost no smoke and fired right off
Is there a way to bypass the GPR. I know on the 99-03 you can use a screw driver to connect the two terminals on the relay to see if the glow plugs are working. Can you do that on a 95?
I have had the same problem with my F-350, The one thing that helps with the problem is a good block heater and an extension cord. I have to keep my truck plugged in year around. I will how ever check into some of the comments that I have seen posted.
You really don't need to plug the truck in until under 20 deg if glow plug system is working. Sounds like it is a dead gp system or close to it.
when standing on the bumper looking at the motor its just to the left of center near the valve cover, looks like a starter solonoid. 2 large cables and 2 small wires.
I think me relay is bad so I have a botton wired up. Run a wire from 1 of small posts to one side of switch and than from other side to other small side. Make sure to use a push button. Too much risk of forgetting to turn a toggle off and swelling all your plugs
