Leveling kit changing payload

Does a 2 inch leveling kit change the payload on the f150 4x4. If so how much?

Thanks

Subtract the weight of the spacers and you'll have your revised payload.

monsta,

I was just curious b/c i read on another thread on this site that the reason these truch sit higher in the back in the first place is so they are more level when hauling a heavy load.

and according to BILLC it does change the payload.... by a pound or 2

Thanks for the replies

The truck sits higher in the back which will bring it to level with the added load. If the truck sat level the added weight would cause it to sag in the rear. Could affect headlight aim.

Spacers are unsprung weight and will have no effect on payload other than the tire's capacity to support the weight. Pretty funny response, though!

I would argue that any load in the back that affects the rear ride height will affect the headlight aim. Having the front level doesn't change that fact.

What could be affected would be your handling & stopping ability caused by the rear end sagging below the front when carrying a heavy load.

The front end is lower on the F150 because of Govt. regulations concerning front bumper height.

Now, supposidly all vehicles sold today have roughly the same front bumper height so when they collide, head-on, ... you get the picture.
