There is an outfit that will restructure your current axle to your desired drop. I will look and try to find them.

Sorry but I couldn't come up with the company. They advertise in rod mags. Maybe someone else knows of them.
I believe you can use an axle from an earlier ford with transverse springs, and weld on spring perches. I did. It is a little hassle but not bad. Also need to have machined into the boss allowance for lower shock mount.
The axle I used was from Magnum and was tubular. It looks like all they offer now is I beam.

Both have a new axle for the price of getting a used one dropped.

One of the companys that I have heard of is called Mor-Drop

Mor-Drop
600 29th Ave., Dept. CT
Oakland, CA 94601
(510) 261-1888

They take your axle and heat and stretch it for the drop. They have been in buisness for decades...

while we're talking about the dropped axle. i have a stock front axle now. if i put a 3" dropped axle, does that really make it a problem for bottoming out and scraping? it sure looks to lower it awful low to the ground.

three inches is a good drop, depending on tire diameter etc. In reference to Mor-Drop, I have used their stuff before with only minor complications. the thing to watch out for is the hole for the king pin. to drop these axles they heat then and stretch them to maintain correct width after the drop is added. the problem arises when the kingpin hole becomes elongated in the stretching process and must be rebored before installing the kingpin(s)
