Good news-Bad News

To make a long story short my wife is adopted and about 6 months ago she was contacted by her birth grandfather. Well Sunday night we got a call from his wife (remarried) that he is in the hospital. Well needless to say we are going up there next week. Leaving on Thursday. We are looking forward to finnally meeting some of her blood family but nervous at the same time. At least I get to take the new truck on a road trip.

Also had the insurance company call me today on my old truck. They are only going to cover a portion of it so now I have to come up with $1500 to cover the rest of the loan. Guess I should have got the GAP coverage after all. LOL I guess thats not to bad though. Could have been much worse.

That's gotta be a rough deal for your wife. Hope all turns out OK.

Gotta love them insurance companies, they all say they look out for ya but we all know they look out for themselves period.

Dan, good luck with the meeting and all the possibilities. It has to be a mixed kind of thing that I can only imagine. We'll keep you all in our thoughts and prayers and wish you the best.

Hope your wifes Grandfather has a speedy recovery.

How did her Grandfather find your wife? I am also adopted and have been searching for my birthmother. I found out her real name but that's about it.

Also I'd fight with the insurance company. Sometimes they'll up the price.

Steve, Hey that's cool. One of my cousins was recently (10 yrs ago) reunited with the family. She'd been adopted at birth, and was finally able to track us down. She's been to 3 family reunions now, and people are still pretty emotional when she shows up.

Don't really know Tony havent got to much into it she was to happy about it. All I know is they contacted her adopted parents and then us. We have only had contact with them though so it could be interesting when we head up there.

Yes, I have thought about a search firm but that costs $$$. Between my truck and my daughter I don't have much $$$ left. I'm listed on most of the adoption boards though. Look me up. You never know, we might be blood brothers.

Great Steve glad to hear it. I'll bet everyone has a little piece of mind now that the meeting is past.
