Hi guys, I have a 04 F-350 drw cc, I just bougt me a alumastinger drop down hitch. Its a one piece bent drop hitch. I believe its polished aluminum??? anyway, when I slide it in the receiver, it seems to have alot of play in it, I can wiggle it around, and it seems that theres a slight gap around the receiver and the hitch, Id say I could probablly slide a nickle between the gap.
This is a 2 inch hitch, and I thought my receiver was also 2 inch.....am I missing something here??? or is my receiver bigger than 2 inch?? If so can I get a sleeve or something of that nature, if so where?? Thanx agian for any help...
I know all of my recivers have some play in them but I don't own any aluminum ones. I wonder if they made it slightly smaller to allow for expansion of the aluminum?? I would not think that it would get that hot, just a guess.
There are at least 3 diffrent items I have seen to take of that problem. All are cheap and easy to install. Any RV parts shop or hitch dealers should have them. I believe they are called "Rattle Reducers"
