I am considering rebuilding the c6 that was in my truck. Where should I look to find the best manual to do it. I am only doing it myself to save a lot of cash, and I have never done it before. The trans is junk so it doesn't matter if I screw it up.
I did it without a manual or anything on my 86 with b&m kit i think it was like 200 bucks it wasnt that bad not many parts in there but hard to line it all up by yourself, i didnt adjust the band properly tho so it lived a short life, but did shift very good, it lasted longer than any of the junkyard trannies i bought for 100 bux, I got about 12 thouhsand miles out of it, i would do it again and would probably take my time more and im sure it would come out better
I just got my rebuilt at ford because I have no time on my hands at all and although I liek working on my truck that is a big job for me. Whatever you do put a shift kit in, I got a stage 2 TransGo shift kit put in and wow what a difference. It shifts hard and you can feel the extra spurt of power. I love it!
