Leaf packs seem weak...
Hi all. My first post here...Great site. I hope someone can answer a few Questions for me. My '70,custom sport,2wd, long bed,f100 seems to sag in the rear end even with a light load..Light load being four or five sheets of plywood and a dozen or so ten foot 2x6's. Maybe 400 or 500 lbs total. If that evan. Is this normal? I know it's not a 3/4 ton or 1 ton but it seems it should be a little more stout. I'm wondering if maybe the leaf springs are worn out? Does that happen? can I replace the leaf packs with junkyard f250 springs and gain something or are there other issues that come into play? I know that most people would say "buy a f250" but I really like the truck I have and I dont want to haul three cords of firewood just a little more than what I'm able too. Any input would be helpful.Thanks..

How old are the shocks? they do make a difference.you could get shocks that are both standard under normal use but can be aired up when hauling a load. fairly inexpensive, about 50 bucks. my son has them on his half ton and they work great.
