Trans Temp?

1995 F-350 Crew Cab Dually

Does anyone know the normal transmission operating temperature and at what temp should I be concerned that damage will begin?

Right now in cool weather I am running about 150 to 180.

The standard I have heard is 60-90* above outside temps and I assume from watching mine that that may be 60 in the winter and 90 in the summer or when towing. I have watched mine keeping this in mind and it seems to hold true.

Hope this helps

I've always heard not to go over 200 deg.

If it is an aftermarket gauge, I think 210 is the cut off. If you reach that point you should pull over and let the temps cool down.
