Question Supercharger for a 99 F350 SD V-10??

I have done about all I can to my 99 SD V10 so now I have decided to supercharge it. Who makes a good system for the V10? I had a 97 Expidition that I supered the 5.4 on and just loved it. It was a Paxton but with all the knowledge here I thought I would ask the experts! Also will I need to go back to stock on my Super Chips Micro Tuner? On my Expedition I had a Super Chips ship burned for that will I need to do the same on this? I have a set of Gale Banks headers, K&N FIPK, And complete duals out the rear with high flow cats and a throttle body spacer if that helps?
Thanks,
Mike Stennes

For supercharging the 6.8L both Whipple and Kenne Bell make twin-screw type blowers (the type of my preference). Paxton and Vortech also both make them, if you prefer centrifugal types, or have space limitations. Personally, since I dont keep my vehicle at redline constantly, I can't validate using a centrifugal blower.

All the companies sell them in kits too. Based on all your other modifications, you may consider a different cam too, to take advantage of the boost.

Question

Ok great now I need to think about the cam??? Crap I didnt even think of that since I didnt really think they had custom ones. Which cam mfg would you recommend? I run Comp Cams in my pro-tourers but I have not seen one from them for my V10. Also which grind? Even if I dont blow it should I cam her?

Question

Ok now for this part of the blower problem, I have narrowed it down to Whipple or Kenne Bell. Who has experiance with these? Which is easier to install? Better quality? Most power?

Thanks,
Mike

Hmm, you may be right...I've never seen an aftermarket v10 cam. That doesn't mean someone doesn't make them, I just have no idea where you would find one. Still, you could just leave your cam stock, and see how it performs. You may or may not decide you actually need a deeper one.

As for Whipple and Kenne-bell...everybody has thier own opinion...I'd just get whichever had the most complete/cheapest kit for your needs. If you find you don't like it, try the other one the next time.

So did you end up supercharing the V10 or not.

I am very interested in how it turns out. PLEASE update if you have made any progress. IMO whipple is the way to go!

Thanks,
Chris

There are no aftermarket V10 Cams, It would have to be a custom cut deal. Good luck and if you do by chance find one let us boys in the V10 forum know about it.

I do believe Lunati Cams will custom grind a bump stick that will light up your eyes. But it may also light a fire to your checkbook in the process.

When it comes to twin screws, you have no choice but to go with either Whipple or Eaton. Ken Belle does not make anything for a Superduty 5.4 or 6.8 nor do they have any plans to do so.

When I called and talked to them they seemed very curt and blunt about it.

I see no reason whatsoever to install a new set of cams. These are work engines and I doubt very seriously anyone can improve on the working range of the existing factory cams.

For boosted applications, the stock set of cams will do fine.

Hmmmmmmmm, it seems Kenne Bell makes one after all. I think it looks a whole lot better than the Whipple, but I haven't seen the Whipple all chromed out like this one.

I am thinking of Super'ing my 6.8 as well. Is it worth it to buy an intercooler too?

The V-10 doesn't have an intercooler.
