Shift lever jumps 04 Explorer

Sporatically the shift lever will "jump" like it was not porperly engaged. It is in drive when it does this. Is this something any one else has experianced? Should I report it to the dealer and have "fixed"?

I have had this happen before as well on my 03. The only reason it has done it was becase I did not proberly put it in the groove for drive. The truck is in drive but then while you are driving the spring then pops it into the proper groove making it jump. Next time you put it in drive see if you can feel the groove with the lever. This groove prevents it from slipping out of gear and is held by spring tension on the lever.
