I havent seen no high usage of the DPF fluid. Also the exhaust clean outs rarely happen while running the bio.

So what kind of results are people seeing after running BD in the 6.0 on a long term basis? It has been long enough that there should be some who have been running it for a while. Is the plastisizing ( sp?) really an issue or has that been disproven? If there are drawbacks what is the scientific reason? (opinions really don't mean a whole lot!)

Did anybody ever get a word from Siemens?

I recently started running B50 and have had a couple of problems that some want to blame on the bio. It may be a factor but I would like to know the facts as to what the issues are. Although they will not admit it the local maker of the bio had a bad batch and it stopped up my HCFM filter. It looked like it was gelled but it still looked that way after the temp got up to 50*. The problem has not been fixed yet but I believe the HFCM was damaged trying to pump against the plugged filter. New HFCM is on the way.

It seems like if the injectors were getting gummed up that they could be cleaned either in the engine by a fuel additive or by removing them and using a solvent.

Just my thoughts. Any 6.0 users .out there still following this issue?

Just popped on here to check on using Bio in the 6.7 and saw this.

Dan,
I've been running home made Bio in my '06 6.0 PSD since it was new along with a buddies 7.3 and my wifes '07 3.0 CRD Jeep GC with no problems at all. In the winter I mix according to temps and besides clogging a filter or two the first winter on my 6.0 no problems.
Hope the news is the same for the 6.7 as I may be in the market for a new one.

Gun Driver, what mix are you using? B100 or something less?

I run 100% when the temps allow, Right now with the temps in the high 30s and 40s I'm running 60 - 70% bio.

I just started to run my '06 F350 6.0 with B100.
Mixed the 1st tank with 1/4 bio and then 1/2 bio.

My Filters are about clogged and I am hoping the ones I ordered online will get here before it stops running

I too am interested in this thread

Also, I want to say that my Owners manual says I can run B100 and it is all good.

I know I asked when I bought the truck in '05 and they said it can do B100

Lin19687, from what I've read you will get a lot of opinions here about Bio. Some like it and some hate it. I am kind of in the middle. I started using B50 late last fall and it seems to have only caused one issue. I had been using it for about 4 months and had changed my filters twice. After the second filter change all of a sudden the lower filter clogged tight!! I believe it was something in the fuel but the processor just said they weren't sure what it was ( I'm sure they did not want to admit they might have a problem)

Anyway since changing the filter I cannot say that I have any problems with the bio.

I'm not sure if you said it did or you thought it did but I'm surprised that your owner's manual says B100 is OK because in 2003 mine says B5 is the max that is OK.

I would offer one bit of advice and one word of CAUTION!!!! 6.0 injectors do NOT like to be run dry as in running out of fuel/clogged filters!!! For this reason I would recommend a fuel pressure gauge - preferably with an isolator so it can be permanent in the cab. If not there then at least a permanent one under the hood where it is easy to check.

Just my $.02 worth!

-Guys, I have been running B99.9 in my LATE '99 7.3 for over a year with no problems.
The stuff I use is commercially made from beef-tallow (fat) that comes "from out west" that I get right here in town close by.

-I started out with B5 for 2 tanks, then B20 for 2 tanks, then B50 for 2 tanks, then right to B99.9 and haven't looks back.

My old 7.3 with just 127k original on a stock engine really likes this stuff, it runs much smoother, quieter, and yes the exhaust is much less offensive.

MY fuel system has always been over-maintained by myself and the original owner so its nice and clean, I personally DID NOT experience any clogging of the fuel filter at first use like many report-prior to Bio-Diesel I always used Diesel-Kleen in each tank which evedentally kept things very clean.

At Glover Oil the B99.9 has been anywhere from .05 to as much as .36 per gallon LESS than my local Sunoco truck stop #2 was at the time, plus with the B-99.9 I don't have to spend the extra $6.00 per tank on Diesel-Kleen!

I just looked in my manual (if that is what you call it). It says B5 is ok.
Then it must have been when I was talking to the Machanic at Ford. They said the B100 is all good.

My Warranty is outnow anyway so it doesn't really matter.

I still LOVE how much more quiet it is and no nasty smell

Little Update, not sure if the Bio I get is a bad batch, but I noticed that it is sluggish lately and I get a bad hesitation now.
I had a 1/2 tank bio and added 1/2 tank Reg Diesel and it is running back to normal.
I think I will stick with the 1/2 and 1/2 from now on (till New England Winter hits).

I still like the less noise and better smell out of the Bio

Normally I get it at Bursaw and I got a 1/2 tank in Falmouth on the Cape.
I know it was not the Falmouth stuff.
I had already changed the Fuel Filters (both) so it isn't that, and no they were not the cheap ones.
I wonder if there is not enough power from the Bio that they make.

Oh well, I so loved the quieter sound, the BBQ Grill smell.

Also the Weather is getting a bit chilly here in MA. Was 45 over night, kinda shocking for Mid August !!

Guess I will stick with 20% Bio.

Anyone know how the Bio mixes with Reg Diesel when Reg Diesel is IN the Tank already ?
Will it just mix as
