we have a brand new bobcat t-190 track loader, it is more or less my responsibility to run it and upkeep it. well just like any equipment it gets grease all over it, even ends up nowher near the grease fittings, what is a chemical i can use that will dissolve the grease and not hurt the paint.
also i needs to be something that works well enough that when you wipe it off it doesnt just smear the grease, (wd-40) any ideas?
Regular old fashion hand cleaner works great. Scoop it out with the rag and start rubbing. It takes a bit of elbow grease to remove heavy grime, but the Gojo will leave a nice shine on the equipment, making the next clean up easier.
Some diesel fuel or any other light oil on a rag will also remove grease easily and will not harm the paint. The oily/greasy rags can't be left laying around after use due to the possibility of spontaneous combusion. Just dispose of them properly after use and you will be OK.
F250, You have my sympathy, we have 2 T190s at work, they shake your branes out. Try using less greese, a pump or two daily should be plenty. If you have a hot water pressure washer you can get the greese clean with that. Greg
brake cleaner wont take paint off unless you leave it on for some time. it is best to remove most grease with a dirty rag, then spray a less dirty rag and clean off more, then spray the area on the machine and take the rag you used earlier to dry your hands and clean to a beautiful shine!
