4.6 intermittent oil pressure
On our 02 explorer with the 4.6L engine it has developed fluctuating oil pressure on the in dash guage. It ranges from normal to zero. The dipstick reads normal oil levels as it has since new and it runs fine. I suspect a faulty oil pressure sending unit. Is this a common problem? How difficult is this to change, and where is it located?

Welcome to the forums.
It is a common thing. If the engine isn't making any abnormal noises, then it's probably the sending unit. It's not hard to change, you can get special socket for it at Autozone for a couple of bucks. It located just to the left of the oil filter on the drivers side.
