95 explorer leaking coolant ???

95 explorer leaking coolant ???
My father-in-law has a 95' explorer -- 4.0L . it just sprung a huge coolant leak behind engine. He said coolant is coming out of the bell housing.. Does anyone know if there is a soft plug back there??
