I just talked to a lady from bassani reguarding a "lightning style" exhaust for my truck. She said that they only make one for the 04 5.4. Is there really that much of a difference in the 05 than the 04? I thought that the exhausts are the same. Does anyone else know of a company that makes a side exit like the lightning for a 4.6?

 

Why not just find a muffler you like, and have an exhaust shop bend you up the piping you want? Thats the easiest solution.

 

That sucks man, I am pretty much sold on that exhaust as soon as I can talk my self in to dropping the $585. I was worried since other exhausts have different makes for pre-June and after fab that it would affect the buy for my '04 but so far I dont think it does. I know magnaflow has a nice lighting style exhaust but I dont know if it fits '05 for sure.

 

well, I'll have to check out magnaflow. As far as the "custom" shop goes, never again man. I have had Waaaay too many problems with these chop shops. I beleive that even though some custom jobs are great, nothing looks an fuctions like something that was specifically designed and tested for that vehicle.

 

A friend of mine put a lightning style exhaust made by magnaflow on his 04 F150 XLT 4X4 extra cab 6.5 bed.

 

how does it sound and look? what did he pay for it.....

 

Magnaflow makes it for the 04, and its about $500. I just talked to them and they say the 05 will be out in a couple of weeks.
