Engine acts like it runs out of fuel

I have been having a similar problem with an '88 F150. I originally thought it was electrical, and asked several sources, including this forum, for ideas, and the favorite answer was the Ignition Control Module. I replaced that, and the same thing happened. So, I bought a coil, and have been waiting for it to stall again, so I can replace the coil and see if that fixes the problem. However, a relative heard on a radio talk show this past week while traveling in Texas, that there is a fan that cools the injectors, and if there is a problem with that, the injectors get too warm, causing the engine to stall. I am not a mechanic, but it sounds like there is a relay involved with that circuit somehow that could control the operation of the injectors? I just got this information last night, and have not had a chance to see if there is any connection between this and the problem. I am going to take a look at it though, because the other approach didn't work, so I am back to square #1, anyway. Mine would start after letting it sit for 30-40 minutes, and run for an undetermined time. Can quit any time, any place. Not good!!

Do you have dual tanks? If so try running on the other tank. My truck will die after awahile on the front tank, mostly if its pretty cold outside, but it runs fine off the back tank. Im beginning to think its the in-tank fuel pump in the front tank thats dying. The sender for that tank doesn't work either and my rear tank return goes to my front tank, so my fuel system is really jacked up.
